This additional thickness delivers a shave similar to that from a cut throat razor but without the risks.\nThe Genesis has a pivoting head that works in a similar way to a modern-day Gillette Mach3/Fusion cartridge blade, this helps to negate cuts due to poor technique and pressing too hard when shaving.\nThe Genesis uses the patent-pending “Active Floating Blade Approach System” (AFBAS).\nAFBAS allows the blade to float in three directions while simultaneously ensuring the relationship between the critical measures of blade angle, blade exposure and blade gap. This was done by slightly expanding the blade insertion area and by adding a longitudinal pivot point an approximately halfway from the cutting edge of the blade which allows the blade to rock up and down during the shaving process. This 'floating system' delivers a significant increase in the comfort and effectiveness of the shave.
